Ten health enthusiast employees of the University of the Philippines Visayas were recognized for their significant achievements as part of their commitment to join the first circuit of the “On Your Feet UPV,” an initiative of the UPV Healthy Lifestyle and Wellness Committee.

Personnel from the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office - Veterans Memorial and Historical Division visited UP Visayas on June 2, 2022, and had a meeting with Chancellor Clement C. Camposano at the Miagao campus. 

Two years of being held captive indoors because of the pandemic, the Trail Walk organized by UP Visayas, an event of the 2022 UPV and Miagao Friendship Day, drew an excited crowd on May 31, 2022. 

Dr. Ramer Bautista is reappointed for a 2nd term as Dean of the School of Technology, UP Visayas.

Dr. Farisal Bagsit of the University of the Philippines Visayas College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (UPV-CFOS) is the new director of the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod/Oblation Corps effective June 1, 2022. 

After two years of not being able to conduct the UPV and Miagao Friendship Day because of the pandemic, the two institutions marked the celebration this year on May 31 with the theme: “Abyan Kahapon, Abyan Gihapon!”

Stakeholders in the fisheries sector pushed for the institutionalization of the Bantay Dagat to effectively protect the municipal waters of coastal municipalities from further abuse and destruction.

The College of Management recognized the honorific scholars for the Academic Year 2020-2021 in its 2022 Pagpadungog held virtually on May 25, 2022. A total of 454 college scholars were honored on the said virtual recognition for their exemplary academic performance despite the challenges brought by the pandemic. They are composed of 142 BSA, 156 BSBA (Marketing), and 156 BSM students.

The University of the Philippines Tacloban College (UPVTC) will offer Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics (BS App Math) starting academic year 2022-2023.
