About CM

The College of Management (formerly the School of Development Management) was established in December 1981 from the former Division of Development Management by the College of Arts and Sciences. It was elevated as a college in 1991. The objectives of the college are to support the UPV programs in fisheries, marine sciences, the arts, and social and natural sciences; to provide management education to train leaders for the region's public and private sectors; to serve as a center for research, information dissemination, consultancy, and training services in administration/management; and to serve as a link between UPV and local, national, and international organizations engaged in management education, training and research.

The college is organized into two departments: the Department of Accounting and the Department of Management. The Department of Accounting offers two undergraduate degree programs: the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing), while the Department of Management offers the Bachelor of Science in Management. Additionally, the college’s faculty is involved in teaching graduate programs under the UPV Graduate School: the Master of Management with specialized tracks in Business Management and Public Management and the Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning.

Message from the Dean

Welcome to the College of Management (CM), the home of the Change Makers and Bluechips (Scions, Tycoons, and Magnates) academic group. Established as the School of Development Management in December 1981, the CM has consistently upheld its commitment to excellence in management education within the region. The College has distinguished itself through its strong alumni network, which includes individuals in supervisory and managerial roles across diverse sectors as well as entrepreneurs, educators, and public servants. This extensive network reflects the College's profound impact on management, governance, and urban and regional planning.

The College of Management aspires to be a globally competitive institution recognized for its leadership in management education, governance, research, and public service. Guided by this vision, the College is dedicated to continually enhancing its graduate and undergraduate programs to address industry needs and align with the UP's overarching mandate.
