The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) conducted a two-day training-workshop on writing/developing Science and policy briefs for mollusk projects last July 25-26, 2022.

The UP Visayas Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts hosted a violin and piano concert at the UPV Performing Arts Hall at the Iloilo City Campus on July 26, 2022. 

The Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-IA) hosted a lecture on BIOSIPEC shrimp nursery technology on July 19, 2022.

University of the Philippines (UP) President Danilo L. Concepcion reminded this year’s graduates from UP Visayas Tacloban College to remember and put into practice what the Oblation statue, popularly known as “Oble,” stands for.

The Ugnayan ng Pahinungod/Oblation Corps (UP/OC) Council, composed of the Directors from the UP System and Constituent Universities (CU), held its 26th Council Meeting on July 14-16, 2022, at the UP Visayas Campus. This is the first time that the UP Visayas (UPV) UP/OC hosted the UP System UP/OC Council Meeting and the first time that the event was held outside Luzon.

Three undergraduate students from Taiwan are spending part of their summer as exchange students at the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) Miagao campus. 

Three undergraduate research papers from the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) won in the first Young Scientists’ Forum (YSF) at the third Philippine Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology-Visayas Chapter (PSBMB-VC) regional symposium held online last July 20, 2022.

The Philippine Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (PSBMB)–Visayas Chapter, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, UP Visayas, successfully held the 3rd Regional Symposium last July 20, 2022, with the theme “PSBMB on the Frontier of Research in the Visayas Regions.” 

A few months before the opening of the next academic year, the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) held an online consultation with its students on the conduct of classes for the BS Fisheries program last July 7, 2022.
