Faculty members and staff from the different colleges in the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) attended a workshop on data visualization on 14 July 2022 at the New Administration Building, UPV Miagao. Dr. Johnny Snyder, a professor of computer information systems and business analytics at Colorado Mesa University in the United States, served as a resource speaker.

The project “Safety Assessment of Food Establishments towards an Oysterrific Tourist Experience in Iloilo City” under the CHED funded program Tourism Studies on Island-Based Opportunities for Growth (TSIBOG), conducted a 2-day workshop on “Microbiological Analysis of Food” with the faculty members of the Department of Home Technology, College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Science (CAFES), Aklan State University (ASU).  The workshop was held at the SAS Microbiology Laboratory, Aklan State University, Banga, Aklan last July 6-7, 2022. 

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) recognized 66 honorific scholars during the face-to-face Pagpasidungog, the College’s recognition program held at the AV Hall, CFOS, UP Visayas Miagao campus on July 19, 2022.

His voice cracking with emotion, School of Technology summa cum laude graduating student Mark Rudan C. Consular paid tribute to his mother, whom he considered his pillar of strength. 

Researchers from the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) visited the Western Philippines University (WPU) in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan for a collaborative project on pilot testing of green mussel “tahong” hatchery and nursery production technology. 

Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. told this year's graduates from the University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) to tip the balance in favor of their academics when they reach college.

Romeo Bachoco, an alumnus of the College of Management, addressed 294 graduating students with Latin honors during the Papuri, a recognition program for Academic Year 2021-2022. The program was held at the UP Visayas Auditorium, Iloilo City Campus, on July 20, 2022.

Jesry T. Palmares, an alumnus of UP Visayas, is the newly appointed Undersecretary of the Department Agrarian Reform for Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects.
