The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through its Graduate School (GS), held “A Public Forum on Sustainability and Policy” at the UPV Little Theater, Iloilo City campus on May 5, 2025, to gear up for the Master of Science in Sustainability (MScS) program offering in the next academic year.

Two teams from the University of the Philippines Visayas powered through the L’Oréal Brandstorm 2025 and hailed as one of the Top 6 National Finalists. This year’s theme focuses on Men’s Beauty & Care in partnership with L’Oréal Consumer Products Division.
Last April 23, 2025, Team Alphabet composed of students from BSBA Marketing - Imer Roan Dusaran and Hannah Villacastin, and BA in Communication and Media Studies Joanah Demonteverde presented their pitch titled IlluMEN. Team treMENdous composed of BSBA Marketing students namely Ma. Fe Sophia Ysabel Parcon, Precious Keziah Falsis, and Aleah Kaye C. Garvilles showcased their idea with Face Card at 18 Missouri Events Place, Greenhills, San Juan City, Metro Manila. The mentors of the teams are Mr. Oscar S. Jinon Jr. and Ms. Pearl Gladys O. Diano. Five teams from UPV were also included in the Top 24 National Semifinalists.

The University of the Philippines Visayas College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (UPV CFOS) Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanology (IMFO), through its IMFO- Quick Response Team (IMFO-QRT), recently conducted a life-saving skills training for its students and staff. Held on April 30, 2025, at the UPV Miagao campus, the event aimed to equip participants with essential first aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills, enhancing their preparedness for emergencies. The successful program was a collaborative effort between IMFO, the UPV Health Services Unit (HSU), and the Miagao Nurses Association (MIANA).

Hon. Maricris C. Vines, ASEAN Eng., Chair of the Chemical Engineering Professional Regulatory Board (ChE PRB), accompanied by Engr. Chamaigne Luz Jamandre, ASEAN Eng., former PIChE National President, visited the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) School of Technology (SOTECH) on April 29, 2025 to discuss recent developments in the field and address key concerns.

To further strengthen its curriculum development and continuously enhance its degree programs as part of its commitment to quality assurance, the University of the Philippines Visayas Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs in coordination with the Quality Assurance Committee conducted the Outcome-based Education (OBE) Lecture-Workshop last 23-25 April 2025 in Sam’s 21 Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

To equip UPV employees with practical skills in identifying and addressing computer issues, the Digital Innovation Center (DIC) conducted training sessions on basic computer troubleshooting, maintenance, and overview of digital signature on 24 March 2025, at the Pidlaoan Hall, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, Miagao campus.
