The University Library received a new book titled “Antiviral & Immunomodulatory Philippine Medicinal Plants,” a new addition to its growing academic collection. The book was generously donated to the University Library by Dr. Armando Victor M. Guidote, Jr., Institute Director of the Philippine Institute of Pure and Applied Chemistry, through Dr. Maria Cristina Dancel, a former faculty member of UPV Department of Chemistry. The book was personally handed to Ms. Analiza S. Galang-Linaugo, U.P. Visayas University Librarian.

Nineteen Grade 12-STEM students from UP High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) were among the select groups chosen to present their research as Global Guests in the poster presentation category of Science Castle Osaka Kansai 2024, held on December 21, 2024 at Yamato University in Suita, Osaka, Japan. The students were accompanied by UPHSI faculty members Dr. Jonny B. Pornel, Dr. Reynold Tan, Prof. Joel B. Labos, and High School Principal Prof. Edelia T. Braga.

To strengthen and enrich students' foundational skills in Math, review different mathematical operations, and hone skills in problem solving, the UPV Teaching and Learning Resource Center in collaboration with the Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM) operationalized the second run of its supplemental program for mathematics courses aptly named, Algebreak! 2.0: Breaking Down Problems into Solutions.

The Digital Innovation Center implemented the acquisition, deployment and test-run of the local area network with fiber backbone and structured cabling connecting various sites in UP Visayas Miagao campus which is part of the UPV priority projects for the UP Visayas Network Infrastructure approved by the UP Board of Regents on February 24, 2022 and funded through the UP System Administration.

Following the participation of UP Visayas in the UP System-wide Teaching and Learning Activities for SUCs, or “TaLAS” Course I: Building a Teaching Effectiveness Program workshop on November 21-22, 2023 at the UP School of Economics, the faculty participants from the different colleges and representatives of the Teaching and Learning Resource Center conducted an echo-workshop of the same topic on November 27-28, 2024 at the MILC AVR.
