The Division of Professional Education (ProfEd), faculty members led by its chair Dr. Jonny B. Pornel, conducted a focus group discussion (FGD) with 16 teachers from the Department of Education teachers in Tubungan last February 7, 2025 at the Tubungan Central Elementary School.

After a five-year hiatus, the University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) student journalists marked their come back to the 2025 Iloilo City Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) as they won multiple awards in both individual and group categories held last February 8 and 15 at the Diamond Jubilee Hall, Iloilo City.

With the 2025 Midterm Elections coming closer with each passing day, it becomes more important than ever for Filipino citizens to choose their candidates wisely. However, in the digital age, misinformation runs rampant, especially in politics and information about candidates. There is an increasing demand to ensure that the information one consumes is true. Gen Z and millennials make up 63% of the voting population for the coming year, highlighting the extent of the potential impact these two generations may have in shaping the political landscape of the Philippines.

Nine personnel of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) participated and contributed in the workshop of the UP System titled Commission on Audit (COA) policies supporting the digitalization of the UP Information Systems held at the College of Law, UP Diliman, Quezon City on January 27-28, 2025.

In response to the dynamic needs of students especially in online modality, the UPV LMS integrated key tools that enable teachers to directly embed resources from the Journal of Visualized Expirements (JoVE) directly to the UPV Learning Management System through JoVE’s Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI).

The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture and Aquatic Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) funded project, ‘Assessing and Accelerating: Towards the Full Implementation of the FAO Small-Scale Fisheries Guidelines (SSF Guidelines) in the Philippines,’ conducted a benchmarking activity last 25 January – 02 February 2025 in Japan. The benchmarking activity was hosted by Tokai University and TBTI Japan.
