Prof. Nathaniel Samson of the College of Management, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV CM) is the new Director of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), effective Feb. 1, 2025 to Jan. 31, 2028.
He took oath as OSA Director on Feb. 7, 2025, at the UPV Liason Office, Iloilo City campus, with Chancellor Clement Camposano administering the oath and vice chancellors Dr. Farisal Bagsit, Dr. Alice Joan Ferrer, Dr. Rhodella Ibabao, and Prof. Encarnacion Emilia Yap serving as witnesses.
Prof. Samson, an Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting, has specializations in training development; career development and management; organizational development; and strategic management, among others.
He has held positions as a faculty-administrator of the University in the past, serving as the Director of the UPV National Service Training Program (NSTP), the Director of the Office of Continuing Education and Pahinungod (formerly the Office of Extension Services and Continuing Education), the Chief of the Human Resource Development Office, and the Dean of Students of the Office of Student Personnel Services (now OSA).
He earned his master’s degree in Management (Business Management) and bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting) at UPV in 1987 and 1982, respectively. He earned his diploma in Human Resource Development at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1995.
Prof. Samson has served as a resource person for several training and development activities of national government agencies, local government units, state universities and colleges, and the private sector.
