Personnel from the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office - Veterans Memorial and Historical Division visited UP Visayas on June 2, 2022, and had a meeting with Chancellor Clement C. Camposano at the Miagao campus.
The group was composed of Mr. Jaylord G. Aquino, RN MBA (Section Chief, PVAO-VMHD Shrines Management and Development Section), Engr. Aldrin L. Malabad (Section Chief, Building and Facilities Management Section, PVAO General Services and Support Management Division), Engr. Christian Joseph Manalo, Arch. Er Louise Rapiz, Mr. Erwin M. Labog, Jr., and Mr. Gian Mayo explored potential avenues for linkage between PVAO and UPV.
The group from PVAO apprised the Chancellor about their role in building a sense of civic duty in the communities and the organization’s emphasis on giving value to national history. They also talked about various PVAO projects and activities.
Chancellor Camposano shared with the group that UPV works with a diverse set of partners in the country and even abroad. Hence, UPV can extend its expertise and facilities to PVAO’s activities.
The group also donated several books on WW2 and the Korean War to the university.
