Dr. Ramer Bautista is reappointed for a 2nd term as Dean of the School of Technology, UP Visayas.
Bautista has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines – Diliman (UPD) University of Waterloo, ON, Canada (Sandwich Program). He graduated his MS in Chemical Engineering (Specialization in Pollution Engineering) and his BS Chemical Engineering Major in Sugar Technology from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).
His first term as Dean of the School Technology started on June 10, 2019 until to June 9, 2022. His 1st term is marked with a high passing rate for SOTECH’s Chemical Engineering program, vibrant activities for the food technology program, and a revitalized SOTECH. The school’s alcohol hand rub project during the height of the pandemic, which was initiated by Dr. Bautista, was awarded the UP Gawad Pangulo for Excellence in Public Service in 2021.
He will again serve from June 10, 2022 to June 9, 2025. Bautista is also concurrent head of the UPV Community-based Bamboo Enterprise.
He is married to Aca Sugay-Bautista.
