The University of the Philippines Visayas Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (MACH) features the rarely seen drawings by National Artist for Painting Jose Joya (1931-1995) from the University’s art collection in a new exhibition at the Hanas Changing Exhibition Gallery 2.

UP Visayas (UPV) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region (DENR) VI signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the documentation of natural heritage in the Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras Project on June 3, 2024. On the same day, another Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Education (DepEd) VI was also signed at the UPV Performing Arts Hall, Iloilo City campus to extend the cultural mapping in Negros Occidental Province.

The NSTP-CWTS Section 4 Group 1, composed of first-year BS Chemical Engineering and BS Economics students of the University of the Philippines Visayas, held an event titled "Nourishing the Minds and Bodies of Residents of Barangay Baybay Norte, Miagao, Iloilo” on May 11, 2024. The event, hosted at the Barangay Baybay Norte Day Care Center, drew 30 participants, including 27 children aged 5-12 and three parents or guardians.

The Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS) of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) gathered for its first general assembly under the new set of REPS Association (REPSA) officers for 2024-2026, led by REPSA President Rose Toledo Mueda, at the MILC AVR, College of Arts and Sciences, UPV Miagao campus on May 29, 2024.

The official and staff of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development conducted a benchmarking activity in the National Irrigation Administration-(NIA) Regional Office 6 in Iloilo City on May 29, 2024, to learn how they ensure that the stakeholders are well-informed throughout the project from the planning & design and construction phases of the Jalaur River Multistage Project Stage 2 (JRMP2). The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration staff also joined the activity.

In an endeavor to develop the essence of leadership and governance among student leaders in selected high schools in Iloilo, four first year students from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) conducted a program called The Leadership Launchpad (TLLP) in Guimbal National High School last April 27, 2024 and in Kirayan National High School, Miagao on May 18, 2024. The undertaking is a student project for the National Service Training Program - Civil Welfare Training Service.
