The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) joined the 1st International Conference on Responsible Fisheries and Aquaculture (ICORFASA) held at Limketkai Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City on July 3-5, 2024.
For AY 2023-2024, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) honored the president of UPV PH Pub, Ms. Danielle Anleigh B. Colacion, as the CAS Most Outstanding Graduate. The award is given to the student who exemplifies the highest standards of scholarship, leadership, and community engagement.

Vyenge Erre Gayosa, a BS Fisheries student who graduated last July 9 at the Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-IA), received an award at the recently concluded Asia Pacific Aquaculture 2024 (APA24) with the theme "Aquaculture—Driving the Blue Economy," organized by the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) Asian Pacific Chapter (APC) in Surabaya, Indonesia, from July 2–5, 2024.

The National Consortium for Small-Scale Fisheries (SSF) Research and Development or Too-Big-To-Ignore (TBTI) Philippines had its Third Executive Committee (ExeCom) Meeting last 01 July 2024 at the Obdulia F. Sison Hall Conference Room, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Los Baños, Laguna. UPLB hosted the 3rd ExeCom meeting.

The University of the Philippines Visayas’ (UPV) Capacity Building, Policy Review, and Innovative Legislation Toward Coastline Protection and Development for a Sustainable Future, also known as the UPV Coastline Protection and Development Program, held a dialogue with the private sector last June 26, 2024 at Sam’s 21 Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
