Students of NSTP-LTS Section 1 of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) under the advisory of Ms. Analiza S. Galang-Linaugo completed their 40-hour service training program for the Grade 7 and 8 students of St. Louise de Marillac School of Miagao on April 27, 2024. The event was done through a culmination program after a series of enrichment programs on English and Mathematics from February to April this year.

Five groups of student researchers from UP High School in Iloilo’s Grade 12 ABM and HUMSS presented their papers at the Creative Investigation Congress 2024 online on May 22, 2024 with the theme “Research Trends and Future Pathways.” Three groups from 12 STEM presented their papers on the 23rd. The conference was organized by the University of the Philippines High School Cebu in partnership with UP Cebu Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, UPHS Cebu Batch ‘79, UP CERFI, and UPHSC PTA.

Sashah Dioso, the University Research Associate of the Center for West Visayan Studies, was elected as the first President of Asosasyon ng mga Dalubhasa, may Hilig at Interes sa Kasaysayan or ADHIKA ng Pilipinas – Kanlurang Bisayas Balangay during the 9th ADHIKA Regional Conference on West Visayan History and Culture held on May 23-25, 2024 hosted by the College of Education and the Social Science Department of the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City.

The University of the Philippines Visayas’ The Western Visayas Portal (TWVP) and Iloilo Science and Technology University - Miagao Campus’ The Techno Forum joined forces in a workshop titled “Tingog Mo, Tingog Ko: A Basic Citizen Journalism Workshop on Using Social Media for Social Good” on May 20, 2024 at the ISAT-U Hostel.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through the Gender and Development Program, conducted the Orientation and Workshop on the Formulation of the 2025-2030 UPV GAD Agenda on 17 May 2024 at the J7 Plaza Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Eighty five GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) members, unit heads, and other personnel representing the different colleges and units in the University participated in the activity.

The new officials of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and the Graduate School (GS) took their oath of office before Chancellor Clement Camposano at the Office of the Chancellor, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Miagao campus on May 24, 2024.

Chancellor Clement C. Camposano, together with Office of Student Affairs Director Agustin G. Huyong, represented UP Visayas during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI) and Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI), represented by Executive Director Filipina C. Laurena and Executive Director Sebastian C. Quiniones, Jr., respectively.
