The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (UPV-CFOS), and the National Taiwan University (NTU) have officially established a mutual academic cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 13, 2024.

The Office of Student Affairs Guidance and Counselling Services Unit (OSA GCSU) in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Visayas Peer Facilitators (UPV PF) conducted a series of psychosocial activities on March 20 and 21, 2024 in eight dormitories in the Miagao and Iloilo City campuses.

A fisherfolk organization from the island province of Guimaras is the initial recipient of the hatchery-produced green mussel (tahong) spats produced by UP Visayas College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (UPV-CFOS) in collaboration with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 6 (BFAR-6).

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) Team conducted an orientation workshop titled "Enhancing the Performance Measures of UP Visayas in Academic, Research, and Extension in accordance with the GAA-Performance Measures for FY 2024-FY 2025" on April 15-16, 2024 at Hotel Del Rio, Iloilo City.

The project team from the University of the Philippines Visayas conducted a presentation and validation of results of the study “Assessment of the Knowledge, Attitude, & Practices (KAP) on Water Resource Use in Tigum-Aganan-Jaro (TAJ) Watershed” held on 4 April 2024 at District 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.

Prof. John Bengan of the University of the Philippines Mindanao (UP Min) - Department of Humanities kick-started his stint as this year’s Visiting Literary Artist by discussing his topic “Translation as Shapeshifting” in a forum with local writers and literature teachers in Iloilo.

The UPIC Class of 1957 Lower Division financed the digitalization of the University of the Philippines Visayas Health Services Unit (UPV-HSU) Iloilo City Campus Medical Records in March 2024. This is in preparation for the Community Health Information Tracking System (CHITS) that the HSU is putting in place for its operations.
