The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) Team conducted an orientation workshop titled "Enhancing the Performance Measures of UP Visayas in Academic, Research, and Extension in accordance with the GAA-Performance Measures for FY 2024-FY 2025" on April 15-16, 2024 at Hotel Del Rio, Iloilo City.
Vice Chancellor for Administration Farisal U. Bagsit delivered her opening remarks and introduced the new UP Visayas faculty-in-charge for Performance Measures, Prof. Lhumen A. Tejano.
Prof. Tejano gave the rationale of the orientation workshop. He discussed the need of government institutions, including State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) such as UPV, to submit the Budget Preparation Form B (BP Form B), Budget Accountability Report No. 1 (BAR No. 1), and the PBB Report. These reports are reflections of the targets of the institution and accomplishments related to UPV's core functions - instruction, research, and extension.
Former UP Visayas faculty-in-charge for Performance Measures, Prof. Rolly G. Fuentes, was the resource person for activity. He led the workshop and activity proper. During the workshop, Prof. Fuentes reiterated that targets specified should be met and achieved by the units concerned.
The orientation workshop was attended by the heads and representatives of the delivery units from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, College of Management, School of Technology, and Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension.
The orientation workshop is part of UPV's target setting for the BP Form B based on the program expenditure classification (PREXC) to confer UPV's significant contribution to the UP System's overall target for FY 2024-2025.
