The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) is the co-convenor of the ongoing Philippine Studies Association (PSA) 2024 National Conference in Pili town, Camarines Sur.

The UPV-TTBDO Mussel Sauce team embarked on a benchmarking activity within the vibrant Phan Thiet City in Binh Thuan province, Vietnam on March 12-14, 2024. Aside from its agricultural prowess and culinary heritage, Vietnam is widely known for its salt-fermented fish industry in Asia.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts (OICA), together with the National Committee on Cinema, Cine Kasimanwa, Film Development Council of the Philippines, Solar Flix, City of Bago, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, held Cinema Rehiyon 16 at Cinema Exmundo, UPV Cinematheque, UP Visayas Iloilo City Campus.

A current member of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Action Research Project team and former project manager were invited to train senior education program specialists (SEPS) from 21 Schools Division Offices (SDOs) under the Department of Education 6 on research poster making and what it should contain.

Many students finish senior high school without fully knowing what they want to pursue as a career someday. Some graduates pursue a course chosen for them by their parents, only to realize later on that it is not what they want. To guide the graduating class and students of UP High School in Iloilo in choosing the course most suited to them, the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Office of Student Affairs (OSA) initiated the View of Careers 2024 held at the Little Theater last 13 March 2024.

The UPV Graduate School Student Council (UPV-GSSC) spearheaded a mangrove planting and learning visit activity last Sunday, 17 March 2024, at the Leganes Integrated Katunggan Ecopark (L.I.K.E.) and Leganes Prosperity Garden in coordination with the Office of the Municipal Mayor Vicente Jaen III of Leganes, Iloilo, and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).

Prof. Fernando S. Tinagan, faculty of the Department of Physical Education, College of Arts and Sciences, recently received a gold medal international award as an outstanding black belt practitioner/instructor and a rank promotion from “Lakan Isa” to “Lakan Dalawa” during the 3rd Modern Arnis Tapi Tapi MATTI Gathering and “Presas Arnis Legacy” (PAL) Lakan and Dayang Blackbelt Recognition on February 24-25, 2024, Manila, Philippines.
