Four Grade 12 students of UP High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) bagged three special awards during the 13th Regional Congress Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists held in Penang, Malaysia from June 10-14, 2024.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through its Appraisal and Disposal Committee, facilitated the donation of furniture classified as “unserviceable” by the various academic units of the College of Arts and Sciences.
The turnover ceremony was held at the PPO Bodega, UPV Miagao campus on June 10, 2024, to formalize the transfer of the property. The donation included classroom chairs, office tables, wooden cabinets/shelves, and hospital beds.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Food Safety Manual Project team, headed by Dr. Johannes M. Magpusao, launched its Participatory Food Safety Manual titled, "Food Safety and Community: A Practical Guide to Food Safety for Food Service MSMEs in Urbanized areas of Iloilo" on June 7, 2024 at the Performing Arts Hall, UP Visayas, Iloilo City.

The University of the Philippines Visayas’ Capacity Building, Policy Review, and Innovative Legislation toward Coastline Protection and Development for a Sustainable Future (UPV-CPD) Program held its Luzon regional Stakeholders’ Dialogue last May 30, 2024 at the University Hotel, UP Diliman.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) DanceSport team joined and won awards at the first-ever UP System Oblation Sports – Dance Sport Championship 2024 hosted by UP Cebu last June 8-9, 2024 at the GMall, Cebu City. The two-day event was participated by the various dancesport teams in Cebu City and the country. The UP Closed DanceSport Championship is composed of various UP College Units namely, UP Cebu, UP Diliman, UP Mindanao, UP Tacloban College, and UP Visayas.
