The UP Visayas Master of Education English as a Second Language Second Year students concluded a two-day Seminar Series on "The Congruence of Supervision and Leadership: Keys to Effective Institutional Management” on July 27, 2024. This was held at the Graduate and Continuing Education Building Training Rooms 1, 2, and 3 at the Iloilo City Campus.

Students from Philippine Science High School - Western Visayas Campus (PSHS-WVC) have been undergoing a Science Immersion Program (SIP), wherein scholars are deployed to agencies like the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) where they complete an 80-hour training on scientific works such as research and development. The second batch of the scholar trainees were deployed at the School of Technology (SOTECH) last July 15, 2024, which ended last July 26, 2024.

The 15th International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME-15) held from July 7-14, 2024, at the International Convention Center in Sydney, Australia, brought together a diverse group of educators, researchers, and practitioners to explore global trends in mathematics education.

The Community Outreach Program – Barangay Integrated Development Approach for Nutrition Improvement (COP-BIDANI) conducted the culminating activity of the 50th Nutrition Month Celebration for its partner communities on 23 July 2024 at Barangay Tiabas, San Dionisio, Iloilo. This year’s theme “Sa PPAN, Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,” highlights the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) which aims to reduce all forms of malnutrition across all life stages.

UPV Researchers participated in the recently concluded 2024 Department of Science and Technology National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Scientific Conference and 21st Visayas Regional Assembly in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental last July 23, 2024, with the theme “Artificial Intelligence for Responsive Transdisciplinary Research Towards a Sustainable Scientific Future.”

More than 150 participants in the hybrid training and workshop on the Cultural Mapping of Negros Occidental, organized by the University of the Philippines Visayas in Bacolod City and Kabankalan City, acquired vital skills in mapping and assessing the cultural properties with heritage value within their local communities.
