The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) participated in a Small Group Discussion on aquaculture on July 30, 2024 at Citadines Amigo, Iloilo City.

Faculty and REPS of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) participated in the consultation sessions on establishing research groups and creative studios at the department level. Two sessions were held, one in the Miagao campus and the other at the Iloilo City campus on July 30 and 31, respectively.

A call for gender inclusivity resonated with over 130 faculty and staff members at West Visayas State University - Janiuay Campus as Assistant Professor Early Sol A. Gadong of UP High School in Iloilo (UPSHI) delivered a powerful talk on “Transcending Gender Binary in the Workplace” during the 11th Faculty and Staff Institute last July 31, 2024.

Dr. Junemie Hazel Lebata–Ramos, a BS Biology 1992 and MS Fisheries 1999 alumna of the University of the Philippine Visayas (UPV), was named Most Outstanding Professional of the Year in the Field of Fisheries by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). She received her award at the Conrad Manila, Pasay City, Manila on August 2, 2024.

A team from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) participated in a one-day seminar-workshop titled "Mass Spectrometry and Informatics: Indispensable Technologies in Health Research," held at the College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology Building of the University of San Agustin (USA) on July 17, 2024.
