In a competition that showcased the talents of the University of the Philippines Visayas’ (UPV) academic and administrative personnel, the Fire Kingdom of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) aptly shined the brightest.

On the occasion of the 76th Year of UP Presence in Iloilo, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod of UP Visayas joined the celebration to also mark its 30th anniversary this year through, “Mainstreaming the UPV Animal Care Program.” The Animal Care Program was launched at the Miagao campus on August 4, 2023 with the inauguration of Balay Kalagday.

Administrators, faculty, and staff of higher education institutions (HEIs) from different parts of Panay and Guimaras attended the Quality Assurance Forum organized by the UP Visayas Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs on 27 September 2023 held at the Little Theater, Iloilo City Campus.

A series of trainings on the use of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) was conducted by the University of the Philippines Visayas through its Gender and Development Program (GDP). The goal of the activity was to enhance the knowledge of UPV constituents on the use of the HGDG, a tool developed by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and Official Development Assistance Gender and Development Network (ODA-GAD Network) which seeks to ensure that GAD perspectives and concerns are integrated in all programs and projects.

A total of 59 student organizations of varying interests participated in the “Pagtambung: UPV Org Fair” that will run from September 26-28, 2023 at the Miagao campus. The fair is the students’ participation to the week-long celebration of the 76th Year of UP Presence in Iloilo.
