A total of 59 student organizations of varying interests participated in the “Pagtambung: UPV Org Fair” that will run from September 26-28, 2023 at the Miagao campus. The fair is the students’ participation to the week-long celebration of the 76th Year of UP Presence in Iloilo.
The diversity of student life and interests can be seen in booths that were put up along the street of Balay Lampirong, Balay Gumamela and Balay Kanlaon dormitories.
There were academic interest groups such as Math Circle, Oeconomicus, Diskursos; fraternity and sorority orgs like the Alpha Phi Omega, UP Silak & Silab; arts inclined groups such as Literati, Choristers, Hublag (dance); special interests groups like Daebak (Korean), GENGUKEN (modern grahic culture); and faith-based groups like the Campus Bible Fellowship, and Faithbook Fellowship, to name a few.
For the sports inclined, the UPV Mountaineers installed a wall for wall-climbing for their more adventurous peers. Some enterprising orgs secured a permit to sell food while others gave away goodies and snacks to attract future members to their orgs.
The event created an opportunity among the students to be exposed to various student organizations existing in UPV and can serve as a venue for them to find like-minded students who can be their support group and lifetime friends.
The Students Organizations’ Fair was organized by the University Student Council along with their College Council colleagues.
