The College of Management, University of the Philippine Visayas, has once again affirmed its commitment to excellence as it registered a 95.24% overall passing percentage in the recently concluded Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA). The LECPA was administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on September 30, October 1 and 2, 2023, across various testing centers throughout the country.

Asst. Prof. Teresita E. Portugalete from the Department of Physical Education, College of Arts and Sciences, stood out in the recently concluded 23rd South East Asian Association for Institutional Research (SEAAIR) Conference held at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after receiving one of the two Outstanding Paper Awards for her paper titled “Design and Implementation of the E-module in Advanced Swimming.”

University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and Prince of Songkla University-Phuket Campus (PSU), a public university in Thailand, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic and cultural ties in a virtual signing ceremony last September 22, 2023. 

Dr. Clement Camposano, the incumbent Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), gets another term as the highest official of the University after the Board of Regents’ (BOR) decision during their special meeting on Oct. 5, 2023.

A workshop on the Development of Framework for Integrated Coastal Sustainable Development was conducted on 2 October 2023 at Function Room 1, Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City, which was facilitated by Prof. Jessica Dator-Bercilla. 

In a competition that showcased the talents of the University of the Philippines Visayas’ (UPV) academic and administrative personnel, the Fire Kingdom of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) aptly shined the brightest. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) commenced the implementation of the Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras on September 1, 2023. This was after the release of the Sub-SARO of the project from the General Appropriations Act FY 2023 in August of this year.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through the Site Development and Reforestation Project (SDRP) of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD), planted a variety of trees as part of the activities for the 76th Year of UP Presence in Iloilo celebration. 

On the occasion of the 76th Year of UP Presence in Iloilo, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod of UP Visayas joined the celebration to also mark its 30th anniversary this year through, “Mainstreaming the UPV Animal Care Program.” The Animal Care Program was launched at the Miagao campus on August 4, 2023 with the inauguration of Balay Kalagday.
