Geraldin Mae Daguplo Olaer, 3rd placer (84.25%), Jeremiah Inventor Diaz, 4th placer (84.00%), Mary Gold Rio David, 7th placer (83.25%), and Pearlyn Tanate Cambronero, 8th placer (83.00%) made their Alma Mater proud by making it to the Top 10 of the Fisheries Technologist Licensure Exam given this month of October 2021.

Two Master of Education in Social Studies students of the Division of Professional Education (ProfEd) represented the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) in the International Field School Program organized by the Asia-Pacific Higher Education Network for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage (APHEN-ICH), Korea National University of Cultural Heritage, Buyeo, Republic of Korea from August 16-18, 2021.

October is the month for Mental Health Awareness, and as the push for mental health grows ever larger, the University of the Philippines has held a university-wide search for projects that promote the advocacy for mental health entitled: “Sandigan, Sandalan: Search for UP Student Mental Health Advocacy Projects.” last September 2021. The two entries from UP Visayas secured a place in the Top 10, earning cash prize incentives. One of the entries is a project from socio-civic political organization Partido sang Mainuswagon nga Bumulutho (PMB), who forwarded their initiatives, Isip Mo Sagip Ko and Bookmark This: You Matter.

Three faculty members of the University of the Philippines Visayas have joined the National Panel of Technical Experts (NPTE), a group coming from various disciplines related to climate change and disaster risk reduction, during a virtual press conference held on October 13, 2021.
