UP sends help to areas in Northern Luzon affected by Typhoon Maring

UP Visayas endorsed One Hundred Thousand Pesos (P100,000.00) to the University of the Philippines Baguio and another Fifty Thousand Pesos (P50,000.00) to Cagayan Valley Disaster Relief Operations. These donations can help the disaster response efforts geared toward many families and communities in Northern Luzon, especially areas in Baguio and Cagayan Valley severely affected by Typhoon Maring (Kompasu).

This UPVs initiative to assist these regions comes from the funds of the UPdanay Donation Drive of the UP Visayas and the UPV Foundation, Inc. These contributions came from the alumni, students, faculty, staff, and private partner institutions of the university.

Chancellor Camposano, ex-officio President of the UPV Foundation, Inc., also requested to call for a fund campaign to increase its capacity to extend help in various disaster-stricken communities. “UPV is steadfast in its belief that communities and people of the Northern Luzon will overcome this test of Filipino strength and courage. UPV has continued to hear the call of unity and partnership for public service and outreach to those in dire need,” Camposano stressed.
