The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Antique on October 30, 2024, at the UP Visayas New Admin Building Conference Room, via Zoom. At the same time, the UPV Regional Research Center (RRC) and the UA Integrated Research Centers (IRC) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for research and development, and capacity building activities under the Material Science and Nanotechnology (MSN) Laboratory. This upcoming activity aims to capacitate researchers on the basic operations and maintenance of the various equipment under the MSN Laboratory despite the lack of enough human resources. This activity is spearheaded by the UPV RRC MSN Laboratory and will be inviting Ms. Jessebel V. Gadot, then University Researcher I of the UPV RRC MSN Laboratory, and the current Faculty and Director of UA-IRC. 

The “Paghugpong: University-wide Organization Fair,” organized by the University of the Philippines Visayas University Student Council (UPV USC), officially opened on Nov. 6, 2024. 

The University of the Philippines Board of Regents, in its 1394th meeting held on 29 October 2024, approved the appointment of Prof. Christopher B. Honorario as Dean of the College of Management (CM) of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) from 29 October 2024 to 28 October 2027. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas Regional Research Center (UPV RRC) Engineering Section conducted a seminar-worksop titled “Powering Up: Mastering Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) Systems for Critical Facilities” last November 6, 2024 at the UPV RRC Audio Visual Room, UP Visayas Miagao Campus. The seminar-workshop aimed to better understand the basics, importance, and how to design Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) Systems in critical facilities.

Three personnel from the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) participated in the 4th International Ocean Camp held on October 20-25, 2024, in Taiwan.

The Committee on Professional Development and General Welfare under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension organized a training on the collection and analysis of sex-disaggregated data and gender statistics last October 28, 2024 at GCEB Training Rooms, UPV City Campus, Iloilo City. 

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) held a consultation with its non-teaching personnel on the review of the BS Fisheries (BSF) program and other concerns in the college on November 6, 2024 at CFOS, UP Visayas Miagao campus.

Employees of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) were pampered during the CFOS Wellness Day on October 30, 2024, at the Pidlaoan Building, CFOS, UP Visayas,  Miagao campus.

Officials from the National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) gave a lecture and presented scholarships and internship opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students of UP Visayas (UPV).
