Two students from the College of Management of the University of the Philippines Visayas qualified for a series of training workshops on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) endorsed by the Regional Development Council (RDC)  VI - Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC), and organized by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region VI.

The faculty, researchers, staff, and students from offices and facilities based in the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), Miagao campus, participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for the third quarter of this year, held Sept. 7.

Eleven students of UP High School in Iloilo are finalists in the poster presentation category of the prestigious Science Castle Asia 2023, which is scheduled to take place in Cyberjaya, Malaysia from October 21 to 22, 2023.

The Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-IA), UP Visayas has reached out to more educators, through its extension program titled “Training of Educators in Aquatic Mainstream Science (TEAMS).”

The University of the Philippines Visayas-School of Technology (UPV-SOTECH) Chemical Engineering Quiz Bee Team successfully grabbed the third (3rd) place at the APCChE National Chemical Engineering Quiz Bowl held at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Manila on September 4, 2023. After a rough start during the first round, the team gained momentum and made a comeback by scoring successive points and overtaking 11 other competing universities.

The University of the Philippines Visayas – University Student Council (UPV-USC) and All UP Academic Employees Union – (AUPAEU) Iloilo Chapter jointly held “TAPATAN,” the sectoral interview with the nominees for the next UPV Chancellor at the GCEB AVR, Iloilo City campus, on Sept. 12. 

In the continued conduct of remote learning in UP Visayas, faculty members and students reflect a need to be oriented on the tools that make learning possible in the online setup.

The UPV College of Arts and Sciences Division of Professional Education conducted a lecture forum on "Citizenship and Civic Education in the Philippines: Links and Possibilities,” held at the Little Theater, UP Visayas, Iloilo City, on 22 August 2023.
