Chancellor Ricardo Babaran was awarded the Outstanding Science Administrator Award (Dioscoro Umali Medal) of the National Academy of Science and technology (NAST) during its awarding ceremony at World Trade Center, Pasay City on July 17, 2019.
The Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM) conducted an Academic Program Improvement (API) activity entitled “Workshop on the Assessment of Instruction and Refinement of Teaching Modules for Mathematics and Statistics Service Courses” at the GCEB Training Room, UPV Iloilo City on June 19-21, 2019.
“UP is every student’s dream school…we are given quality education in which we excel in academics as well as trained to be involved in the matters of society; …we exposed ourselves to different issues and problems of society not because we want to get attention but we seek to help address these and become part of the solution.”
The Bridge Program in English and Mathematics as an entry requirement to UP admission for those identified to be ‘bridgers.’ The said program hopes to bridge the gap between the learnings of Senior High School and UP college education. The expected number of participants this school year is 353 (177 for English and 176 for Math).
Gearing towards the continued annual conduct of its primary extension activity and move closer to realizing the aim of strengthening the capabilities of those handling courses in the social sciences and philosophy, the University of the Philippines Diliman – College of Social Science and Philosophy (UPD-CSSP) partnered with the University of the Philippines Visayas – College of Arts and Sciences (UPV-CAS) and organized the 2019 CSSP Extramural Training Seminar for Social Science Teachers (CSSPEx 2019). This is the first inter-college public service and extension collaboration.
On its 22nd Anniversary celebration held on May 2-3, 2019, TLRC organized various programs and activities to promote a proactive and nurturing academic environment.
