Ugnayan Pahinugod Visayas gets recognition from DSWD VI

UP Visayas Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, through its Director, Prof. Ruben M. Gamala, received a plaque of appreciation during the 69th Anniversary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region VI at District 21 Hotel, Iloilo City on February 5, 2020 as recognition to its volunteering service during the disaster relief operations in support to the latter's delivery of social protection services.

UPV turns over Management Information System (MIS) for CDP to 20 partner LGUs

The University of the Philippines Visayas project team turned over the Management Information System for Comprehensive Development Plan (MIS for CDP) to the Dept. of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on January 31, 2020 at Smalville21 Hotel, Iloilo City. The MIS is part of the DILG-funded “SUC-Assisted Approach in CDP Formulation Project” which is implemented with twenty (20) partner Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region 6. The UPV Project Team is under the Office of Continuing Education and Pahinungod (OCEP).

UP College of Law conducts orientation to encourage law aptitude exam takers

The University of the Philippines College of Law conducted an orientation to aspiring lawyers who wish to lake the Law Aptitude Exam (LAE) on January 24, 2020. Atty. Emerson S. Bañez, faculty member of the College, gave the participants insights and tips on how to pass the LAE. An Iloilo-based alumna Atty. Kristine Alobba also encouraged the participants by sharing bits of her experiences while fulfilling her Law degree.

UP Visayas tops 2020 online rankings for Western Visayas

The University of the Philippines Visayas topped the newest Webometrics world ranking for the best quality online content, web presence, and impact among educational institutions in Western Visayas.

CWVS is now member of KABANSA

The Center for West Visayan Studies is now a member of the Kapisanan ng mga Bahay Saliksikan sa Bansa (KABANSA), a duly recognized organization of studies centers in the Philippines. No less than Dr. Randy Madrid, CWVS current Director, who attended and received the certificate of membership from KABANSA president, Ryan Palad, during the History Lecture and Book Launching sponsored by KABANSA and ADHIKA held at La Salle Greenhills, Mandaluyong City on January 25, 2020.

CWVS Director is elected National President of ADHIKA

CWVS Director, Dr. Randy M. Madrid, has been elected national president of the Asosasyon ng mga Dalubhasa, may Hilig at Interes sa Kasaysayan (ADHIKA) for 2020-2022. The election of new officers, which was held at University Hotel, UP Diliman, Quezon City on January 24, 2020, was also attended by former ADHIKA presidents. The formal turnover ceremony was facilitated by outgoing officers led by  ADHIKA outgoing president, Dr.  Vicente Villan of UP Diliman.
