The UP Visayas (UPV) Sibika Hub organized a Leadership Training and Public Service activity at the Jaro National High School Gymnasium last May 6, 2023, wherein student leaders coming from U. P. High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) and six DepEd Schools actively participated.

Aiming to inspire other students from U.P. High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) and provide them with expertise in research, Grade 12–STEM students organized a conference-exhibit titled, “UGBOS: A Conference-Exhibit on STEM-Related Researches” held at the UPV Little Theater on May 3, 2023.

With the theme "Celebrating the Region," the 6th Iloilo Mega Book Fair, which ran from April 27 to 30, featured a variety of books on various genres for bibliophiles and Ilonggos alike. The event, which hopes to preserve regional languages and support regional literature, was held at the Festive Walk Mall, Megaworld Complex, Iloilo City.

Hatchery sector and operators will soon have access to the new technology on hatchery production of the green mussel (Perna viridis) spats developed by the Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS-IA) for grow-out production and expansion.

Asst. Prof. Donne Jone Sodusta, a faculty member at the Division of Professional Education of the College of Arts and Sciences, UP Visayas was given the Distinguished Dissertation Prize of the Taiwan Association for Sociology of Education (TASE). This is for his dissertation paper titled “Contriving and Curating Indigeneity: Problematization of the Philippines’ Indigenous Peoples Education.”

Earthy designs incorporated in green and blue recyclables, music of hope, and messages of stewardship filled the air as children, students, teachers, parents, and other participants celebrated the Earth Day 2023. A Musika Lokal Songfest was held at the grassfield in front of the Gender and Development Program (GDP) Building, UPV Iloilo City Campus last April 20, 2023.
