Two administrative staff from the University of the Philippines Visayas participated in the Seminar-Workshop on Records Recovery and Disaster Preparedness, which was held last 19-20 April 2023 at Iloilo Science and Technology University Miagao Hostel, Miagao, Iloilo.  The participants were Ana Liza A. Subade, Administrative Officer from the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) and Mr. Carlo V. Gedangoni, Administrative Assistant from the Office of Human Resource and Development Office (HRDO). 

The UP Visayas Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (UPV MACH) has now a small museum souvenir shop called Aparador. This is following the donation of a curio cabinet to the museum by the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. (IDFI).

The University of the Philippines Visayas, through the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (UPV-CFOS), was one of the lead organizers of the first-ever seaweed summit in Iloilo province, conducted last April 14-15, 2023, at Casa Real de Iloilo, Iloilo City.

After undergoing a competitive selection process with the B&P Group of Companies’ NGLS Program Team, five graduating students of the College of Management participated in this year’s intensive three-day Next Generation Leaders Summit (NGLS) held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of WV Towers, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Jorom Adulacion (BS in Management), Viela Chan (BS in Management), Jobelle Angel Escasinas (BS in Accountancy), Diana Leigh Franco (BS in Management), and Jan Joan Ilio (BS in Management) were among the thirty students of this year’s NGLS cohort. 

The Bantayan Film Festival is the perfect avenue for the people of Guimbal town in Iloilo to display their creative prowess in filmmaking. The festival has produced countless local talents and films since its inception in 2004. 

Negrense artist and UPV College of Management alumna Moreen Austria donated her sculpture “The Teller of Tales” to the UPV Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (UPV MACH). 

Laughter, colors, and lively interactions filled the first on-site community service-learning engagement phase of Project UP: Ulikid kag Pagkabalaka conducted with its partner school, Calaparan Elementary School in Molo District, Iloilo City last Friday, April 14. 

Asst. Prof. Edelia T. Braga is the new Principal of UP High School in Iloilo from 17 April 2023 to 16 April 2026. The Administrative Order was signed by Chancellor Clement C. Camposano on 14 April 2023.
