Six (6) UP High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) Senior High School Students attended the 3rd Youth Leaders Summit 2023 at the IEC Convention Center, Cebu City, last September 28-30, where more than 1,000 youth leaders across the Philippines assembled.

Paper presentations by faculty members and booths at the exhibits mark the University of the Philippines Visayas’ (UPV) participation at the National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) 2023 on Nov. 22-26 in Iloilo City, organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

With the dynamic learning landscape, challenges in teaching are indeed inevitable. As such, to support teaching excellence in higher education, faculty members and representatives from the Teaching and Learning Resource Center attended the recent run of the Teaching and Learning Activities for SUCs, or “TaLAS: Building a Teaching Effectiveness Program,” on November 21-22, 2023, at the UP School of Economics.

Thirty-six UP High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) Senior High School students from the STEM strand and five members of the UPHSI faculty have been identified as participants in the Shell NXplorers Workshop, scheduled from 22-24 November 2023 at the UPV GCEB Training Rooms. Seventeen students are from Grade 11 STEM, while 19 are from the Grade 12 STEM class.

Ms. Anna Razel L Ramirez and Asst. Prof. Jonevee Amparo presented a paper at the 18th NAKEM Conference at the Double Tree by Hilton in Fremont California on November 15 to 17, 2023 with this year’s theme: Herstories' And 'Histories' of Diversity: Narrating (Im)Migrant and Multiple Lives and Engaging the Community in The Margins.

The UP Visayas Teaching and Learning Resource Center recently conducted the fourth iteration of its Teach SMART Program that focused on the “principles of teaching” and “humanizing education” as core topics on November 16-17, 2023, at the UPV MILC, College of Arts and Sciences building.
