Thirty-six UP High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) Senior High School students from the STEM strand and five members of the UPHSI faculty have been identified as participants in the Shell NXplorers Workshop, scheduled from 22-24 November 2023 at the UPV GCEB Training Rooms. Seventeen students are from Grade 11 STEM, while 19 are from the Grade 12 STEM class.
The NXplorers-Shell’s global STEM program is an “innovative educational programme that introduces young people to the complex and creative thinking needed to bring about positive change. Focused on the food-water-energy nexus, the programme aims to build awareness, develop knowledge and provide thinking tools and complex problem-solving skills to the leaders of the future.”
The workshop is designed to encourage students to develop proposals on potential solutions to energy, food, and water challenges being experienced in their community. Using the NXplorers methodology, the student participants will get an opportunity to join a culminating activity where they can showcase innovative projects addressing the three given challenges.
