Prof. Encarnacion Emilia S. Yap, dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), and BS Fisheries scholars of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resource (BFAR) participated in the consultation-dialogue conducted on November 29, 2023 at the Villadolid Hall, CFOS, UP Visayas Miagao campus.
BFAR, through its Fisheries Scholarship Program (FSP), invited Yap and CFOS undergraduate FSP scholars for a consultation-dialogue on the review of the FSP Guidelines or the Fisheries Administrative Order No. 257-1 series of 2020.
BFAR regional FSP coordinators from Regions VI, VII, IV-B, and Cordillera Administrative Region sat down with Yap and six BS Fisheries BFAR scholars to gather inputs for the amendment of said scholarship guidelines.
Yap, one of the first BFAR scholars, provided valuable feedbacks that may be taken into consideration to improve the implementation of the FSP.
The regional FSP coordinators from the aforesaid regions also visited the campus to monitor and evaluate the performance of their respective scholars who are currently enrolled at CFOS.
BFAR-FSP likewise granted cash incentive to their scholars who made it to the Top 10 highest places in the Fisheries Professionals Licensure Exams in 2023 and 2022.
