In collaboration with UP Visayas, the Iloilo City Government and the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Iloilo City held the first-ever Iloilo City Transport Summit on 30 August 2022 at the UPV Little Theater, Iloilo City Campus. The summit brought together local government officials in the City and Province of Iloilo and stakeholders to identify concrete solutions to the current challenges surrounding the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP). 

Igniting the spirit of giving service to the community for 57 years, the University of the Philippines Ichthyophilic Society (UPIS), in line with its week-long anniversary celebration, held an Outreach Program at Durog Elementary School, Brgy. Durog, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique on August 23, 2022. A total of 26 beneficiaries were given school supplies, hygiene kits, and snacks.

Officials from the Capiz State University (CAPSU) visited the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Miagao campus last August 23, 2022, to benchmark its Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) creation.

The Department of Physical Education (DoPE) has a new captain in the person of Asst. Prof. Brenda Lynn B. Arroyo, as Asst. Prof. Catherine B. Anecita ended her term last July 31, 2022. 

Representatives from the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS), UP Visayas and the local government unit of Leganes discussed plans to improve the livelihood of the fisherfolk in the locality.

UP Visayas (UPV) and National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) renewed their commitment to foster stronger research and academic exchange between the two institutions for the next five years. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) transitioned to the new normal with face-to-face events for the 2022 UPV Alumni and Faculty Homecoming. It was the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic that the alumni were able to physically attend the homecoming events at the University and reunite with their classmates. 

As the Centre of Excellence in Fisheries Education, the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, through the Institute of Aquaculture (CFOS-IA), shared its expertise with the faculty members of different colleges and universities offering fisheries courses in the country.

The UP Alumni Association Iloilo Chapter named former Sen. Franklin Drilon as Lifetime Achievement Awardee during the 2022 Alumni and Faculty Homecoming Dinner and Awards night held at the Iloilo Convention Center on August 21, 2022.
