Economic experts shared information on the current economy as well as long-term plans of the regions in the Visayas under the “new normal” during the PES Visayas Forum 2022 conducted by the Philippine Economic Society (PES), University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), and partner universities last Sept. 30.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) was among the seven Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the Philippines that signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic and exchange programs with universities from Turkey on Sept. 19. 

In commemoration of the 50^th year of the Declaration of Martial law with the theme “Martial Law @ 50: Enduring questions and continuing answers,” UP Visayas organized an online conference on Martial Law on Sept. 22, 2022.

Dr. Vivian Azucena-Topor of the Department of Chemistry, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), received the Outstanding Achievement Award in Chemistry Education - Tertiary Level from the Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies (PFCS) on Oct. 1, 2022.

In celebration of the 9th Hablon Festival with the theme: “Miagao Hablon: Panublion nga Dapat Ipadayon Para sa Pagbangon,” three faculty members of the University of the Philippines Visayas served as resource speakers last September 20, 2022, at the Justice Ramon B. The Student Organizations and Activities (SOA) Unit of the Office of Student Affairs conducted the SOA Orientation for the first semester of AY 2022-2023 yesterday, 21 September 2022, via hybrid set-up at the CFOS AV Hall and via Zoom.

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, UP Visayas (UPV-CFOS) led the conduct of a training workshop on the application of good manufacturing practices/ sanitation standard operating procedures (GMM/SSOP) for the small-scale production of fishery products and cooperative development and management to different Peoples’ Organizations (POs) in Northern Iloilo.

Students of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) were able to watch Filipino films “Liway” and “11,103” on Sept. 23, as part of the series of activities conducted by UPV to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Martial Law declaration.
