Rica Abigail Anonoy, a junior BA in Psychology student from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), placed second in an art competition for the World Mental Health Day held last Oct. 7 at a resort in Arevalo district, Iloilo City.

Dr. Philip Ian Padilla, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, along with UPV lecturer Prof. Alexander Porras, served as retreat masters for 18 LGUs under the DOH6-UPV partnership’s Municipal Leadership and Governance Program (MLGP) at Damires Hills, Janiuay, Iloilo from 3-6 Oct 2022. The initiative is in preparation for the MLGP Colloquium on 14 October 2022.

The University of the Philippines Visayas signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the City of Iloilo, to provide technical assistance for the institutionalization of the Iloilo City MICE Center (ICMC) and to assist ICMC in the recalibration of the MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travels, Conferences/ Conventions, Exhibitions/Events) work plan.

More than 300 of Iloilo City’s traffic aides attended the Traffic Academy today, 07 Oct. 2022, at the Little Theater, UP Visayas. The program is designed to further capacitate the participants to deliver their duties responsibly and excellently. UPV supports the initiative of the City Government to elevate the performance of traffic aides by educating them about road safety, traffic ordinances, traffic signals, stress management, and work ethics.

Sixty school-based nurses participated in the training co-organized by the Department of Education Province of Iloilo and the COP-BIDANI of the College of Arts and Sciences. The training that was held on October 5-7, 2022, at J7 Plaza Hotel Mandurriao, Iloilo City, focused on Personality Development and Leadership Enhancement on the Implementation and Delivery of School-based Health Services for SY 2022- 2023.
