CAS COP-BIDANI co-organizes personality development and leadership training for DepEd nurses

Sixty school-based nurses participated in the training co-organized by the Department of Education Province of Iloilo and the COP-BIDANI of the College of Arts and Sciences. The training that was held on October 5-7, 2022, at J7 Plaza Hotel Mandurriao, Iloilo City, focused on Personality Development and Leadership Enhancement on the Implementation and Delivery of School-based Health Services for SY 2022- 2023. 

It primarily aimed to equip school-based nurses with the necessary leadership competencies to effectively and efficiently deliver school-based health and nutrition services, ultimately contributing to equitable and quality education.

“This training is part of our effort to support and inspire all our school nurses in the five districts in the Province of Iloilo to continue to implement and deliver the best possible health and nutrition services in support of the education of every Filipino child, regardless of status,” expressed Dr. Rex Rocha, Medical Officer and leader of the DepEd Province of Iloilo co-organizing team.

Dr. Philip Ian Padilla, UP Visayas Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, led the training team that also involved Dr. Johnrev Guilaran, Dr. Marilyn Sumayo, Mr. Alexander Porras, Prof. Melanie Sartorio, and Prof. Josephine T. Firmase, the COP-BIDANI Coordinator. 

Mr. Marianito Ramirez, Jr., COP-BIDANI’s University Extension Associate and Ms. Elna Mariel Nanta, the unit’s Administrative Assistant, completed the training team as training coordinator and secretariat/staff support, respectively.
