Personnel of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) were vaccinated or given their booster shot against COVID-19 at the UPV New Administration Building, Miagao campus, during the “PinasLakas” vaccination drive on September 1, 2022.
In an advisory from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, Ref. No. JLB-2022-056, dated August 26, 2022, UPV personnel and students were encouraged to be vaccinated or get their booster shot.
PinasLakas is a campaign launched by the Department of Health (DOH) to strengthen nationwide booster vaccination against COVID-19.
The Miagao Municipal Health Unit designated the UPV Miagao campus as one of its COVID-19 vaccination sites to cater to UPV constituents.
Two teams from the Municipal Health Unit (MHU) and the DOH’s Nurses Deployment Program administered the Pfizer vaccine to UPV personnel at the vaccination site.
Both teams are part of the group that visits schools and barangays to strengthen booster vaccination. (With sources from Miagao MHU)
