Personnel from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) attended the “Multidisciplinary Training on Violence and HIV Among Children, Adolescents and Young People” organized by the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (Philippines), Inc. (ICAP) as part of the implementation of the LIFT Equity Project with funding and technical support from the United States Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC). The training aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and values of service providers from various sectors in delivering services to children, adolescents, and young people, particularly those affected by Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and experiencing violence.
The University of the Philippines - Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP-CIDS) and Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO) in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi are mounting a historic transdisciplinary international conference, which will bring together a diverse group of scholars to discuss relevant issues, including the role of the Sulu Archipelago in the dynamics of nation-building in the region and the existing cultural, ecological, and socio-economic currents that flow through its maritime border zone today, among others.
A two-day Stakeholders' Meeting and Workshop was held at the UP Visayas Extension Campus in Pandan, Antique from September 28-29, 2024, as part of the "Pagrara: Exploring Northwestern Panay Weaving Heritage" initiative, funded by the UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (CIDS). The event is part of the Panay Weaving and Culinary Heritage Program of the UP Visayas Center for West Visayan Studies (CWVS).
The University of the Philippines Visayas Division of Professional Education (UPV - DPE) successfully conducted the Master of Education (MEd) Orientation Program last September 21, 2024, at the UPV Auditorium. The event marked the beginning of a transformative journey for the new batch of MEd students.
“We at the OVCRE believe that more than achieving the target proposals and implementations for this year, it is important to refresh our researchers and support personnel, and admin staff of the good foundation of every research study and extension program—and that is a good relationship in a favorable working environment,” said VCRE Yap during her opening remarks in the orientation for research personnel on work and professional ethics and conflict management in research.
