As they stepped into the UPV Auditorium, the students were greeted with a warm welcome from Dr. Jonny B. Pornel, Chair of the DPE. Dr. Pornel emphasized the significance of the MEd program in shaping the future of education and encouraged the students to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.
A series of inspiring talks followed, providing the students with valuable insights and guidance. Dr. Donne Jone P. Sodusta from the Social Studies Cluster discussed the importance of academic integrity and ethical research practices in graduate studies. Prof. Aileen C. Chong from the Foundations Cluster shared her expertise on navigating the challenges and demands of graduate school. Prof. Helen GC Q. Fernandez from the Guidance Cluster provided valuable advice on building relationships with fellow MEd students and fostering a supportive learning environment.
To foster a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among the new students, games and interactive activities were organized, spearheaded by the Guidance Cluster students. The activities helped the students connect with each other, acquaint lasting friendships, and create a fulfilling graduate school experience.
Throughout the program, the MEd students were treated to lively and entertaining intermission numbers. The Happy9ners, a MEd Social Studies Group, serenaded the audience with their beautiful voices, while the OctSciSquad, another MEd Social Studies Group, showcased their musical talents with a heartfelt song serenade. These performances added a touch of joy and excitement to the event.
The program also celebrated the achievements of the Guidance Counsellor Licensure Examination passers, recognizing their dedication and hard work.
In closing, Dr. Randy M. Madrid, Graduate Program Coordinator, delivered a powerful and inspiring address. He urged the students to embrace their passion for education and to make a positive impact on the lives of their students. Dr. Madrid's words resonated with the students, motivating them to pursue their academic goals with enthusiasm and determination.
