CCIAP visits UP Visayas for potential collaborations

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Australia Philippines (CCIAP) visited the facilities of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Miagao campus on Sept. 27, 2024, for potential collaborations.

The group visited the Philippine Genome Center Visayas and the Food, Feeds, and Functional Nutrition Laboratory at the UPV Regional Research Center Building. Afterward, they checked the Multi-species Hatchery of the Institute of Aquaculture of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. 

They capped off their visit at the Coastline 5023 Fisheries Technology and Business Incubator (FTBI) to learn about the incubated startups. 

The group, led by CCIAP President Connie de Cunha, conducted the visit to explore potential business collaborations between Australian industries and the University and its facilities. 

They were accompanied by Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Iloilo Startup Head Mr. Francis Gerona, PCCI Iloilo Executive Director Zyril De los Angeles, and Engr. Sheila Oberio, Department of Science and Technology Iloilo Provincial Director. 

Vice Chancellor for Administration Dr. Farisal Bagsit and Dr. Mary Grace Sedanza, UPV RRC Director, met with the group before the start of their tour. (With sources from PCCI Iloilo)
