Dr. Johannes Magpusao shared her plans and programs for the School of Technology, University of the Philippine Visayas (UPV-SoTech) for the academic years (AY) 2024-2027 as the lone nominee for SoTech Dean during a program held at the CFOS AV Hall on Sept. 25, 2024. 

September 28, 2024 – UP Visayas Little Theatre – Today marks the second installment of the UP Visayas Sibika Hub 2.0, featuring a lecture by Prof. Dominique Maquiran on Inclusive-Humanizing Youth Leadership. Prof. Maquiran delivered an insightful presentation, highlighting the critical importance of fairness and empathy in decision-making. He urged youth leaders from various institutions to integrate these values into their leadership practices, fostering a more inclusive environment for all.

A two-day Research Proposal Writing Workshop was conducted for faculty members and Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS) last September 12-13, 2024 at the Conference Room, New Administration Building, UP Visayas, Miagao, Iloilo. 

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension conducted the first day of the two-day series orientations about Research and Work Ethics, Intellectual Property Rights and Crisis Management last September 24, 2024 at the CFOS AV Hall, UP Visayas Miagao Campus. The first day delved into Research Ethics and Intellectual Property Rights topics both offered in morning and afternoon sessions.

A transformative training to empower the youth of Iloilo City was conducted by the Office of Continuing Education and Pahinungod (OCEP), UP Visayas on September 25, 2024 at the Training Rooms 1 & 2 of the Graduate and Continuing Education Building (GCEB), UP Visayas, Iloilo City campus. 

The University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo Student Council organized the UPHSI Day of Remembrance with the theme “Karapatan 101: A Human Rights Talk” on September 20, 2024, at the UPV Auditorium, Iloilo City Campus. 

Two iconic heritage structures have been turned over to the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) during a ceremony for the Handumanan Project (the repair of the Old High School and Woman’s Club buildings) at the UPV Iloilo City campus on Sept. 26, 2024.

The UP CIDS funded project “Namit Gid!: A Multi Stakeholders' Collaboration for Ilonggo’s Batchoy” under the Panay Weaving and Culinary Heritage Program conducted a two-day Stakeholders’ Workshop and Forum from September 16-17, 2024 at the CWVS Office-UPV Iloilo City Campus and District 21 Hotel. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) kicked off its celebration of the 77th Year of the UP Presence in Iloilo by participating in the 2024 International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day at Villa Beach, Villa district, Iloilo City, on Sept. 21, 2024.
