The Property Services Office (SPSO) will utilize the eProcure platform for the online procurement processes of UP Visayas starting October 2024 until the new procurement management system is fully operationalized. This is in light of the upcoming phase out of the University Information System (UIS) to implement the digital transformation program of the UP System.
For the smooth online process transition from UIS to eProcure, SPSO scheduled five (re)orientation sessions to the Users/Requesters starting 9AM of September 23, 2024 for Batch 1 at the New Administration Building (NAB) Conference Room, Miagao, Iloilo. Batch 2 will take place in the afternoon of September 23. Meanwhile, Batches 3 and 4 are scheduled in the morning and afternoon, respectively, of September 26, 2024 still at NAB Conference Room. Batch 5 will take place on September 27, 2024 at the GCEB Training Room 1 for Iloilo City. Each batch is composed of 20 participants for 3 hrs per session.
As a background, e-Procure was developed by a UPV team including the (re)orientation resource person, Mr. Efrain Servento, Information Technology Officer under the Digital Innovation Center. This software was used in all of UPV’s online procurement processes prior to UIS. While most of these processes have been done via UIS, our research projects continue to use eProcure. Thus, using this software again is the best option at the moment, especially that Modules are already well-developed - from PPMP (Project Procurement Management Plan) submission, preparation and submission of Purchase Request, until the goods/services are accepted by the requestor and the suppliers are paid.
The eProcure (re)orientation initiative aims to enhance capacity of procurement requesters to maximize utilization of this online platform, and for more efficient and transparent procurement processes of UPV. Vice Chancellor for Administration Dr. Farisal U. Bagsit was present during the start of the program to give an opening message, where she encouraged everyone to be open to this change and readily adapt to the fast-changing information technology for better procurement and other processes at the University.
