The Urban Studies Program (USP) of the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS) conducted a Publication Writing Orientation and Workshop on April 10–11, 2025, at Smallville 21 Hotel, Iloilo City. 

The School of Technology (SOTECH) of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) took a significant step towards shaping its future by holding a Strategic Planning Workshop for 2025–2027 at Hotel del Rio, Iloilo City. The two-day workshop brought together faculty and staff to craft a focused and forward-looking roadmap aligned with the UP System’s broader strategic framework for 2023–2029.

Scientists and experts gathered to discuss studies, initiatives, and programs at the Conservation Genomics Colloquium 2025 organized by the Silliman University (SU) and the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) through the Philippine Genome Center Visayas (PGC), at the Silliman University, Dumaguete City, on April 15, 2025. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas Gender and Development Program (GDP) and the Office of Anti-Sexual Harassment (OASH), in collaboration with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD), conducted a series of Gender Awareness-Sensitivity Orientation and Anti-Sexual Harassment Orientation (GASO-ASHO) for 3rd party contractors and personnel in-charge of the construction of various infrastructure projects in the University. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) will officially launch the Participatory Food Safety Manual, a landmark initiative developed through the collective expertise of the Food Safety Manual Project team, on May 23, 2025.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) achieved a major milestone as it was conferred its first-ever Platinum Award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) during the 2025 Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) Presidents' Summit held at Sequoia Hotel, Manila Bay last April 10, 2025. 

The Institute of Fisheries Policy and Development Studies of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) conducted a public service activity titled "Seminar-Workshop on National Fisheries Laws and Policies: Highlighting the role of fisherfolk as local resource managers" at the Training Center, Miagao, Iloilo on  March 21, 2025. 

The Institute of Fisheries Policy and Development Studies, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-IFPDS) hosted a World Expert Lecture Series (WELS) on blue economy in seafood industry and the significance of artisanal and small-scale commercial fishers held on March 25-26, 2025 at the UP Visayas Miagao and Iloilo City campuses. 

The University of the Philippines Visayas - Research, Extension, and Professional Staff Association (UPV REPSA), in collaboration with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension, recently held a seminar-workshop on personnel development and succession plan for REPS.
