Faculty members from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) participated in the External Quality Assurance (EQA) Clinic (Batch 1) conducted by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs in coordination with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and UPV QA Committee last 1-2 April 2025 at the GCEB Training Rooms, UPV Iloilo City campus.
The activity aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively prepare Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) that meet external quality assurance standards, assist programs in identifying and solving areas for improvement in their program’s EQA process, and enhance the participants’ capacity to formulate and implement actionable QA strategies based on findings from EQA reviews, ensuring continuous post-EQA improvement and sustainability in their degree programs.
The faculty members, who represented their degree programs, were the persons in charge of writing their SAR and spearheading QA-related activities, including the EQA.
Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (QA) Dr. Alyssa P. Alampay, who also served as one of the trainers, opened the activity with an overview of the workshop. She also discussed UP’s QA and its alignment with national and global QA initiatives.
Other trainers included Dr. Philip Ian Padilla, UP System Quality Assurance Committee member-at-large and Dr. Corazon Abansi from UP Baguio.
Other participants included faculty members from UP Mindanao, UP Tacloban College, and UP Cebu.
