More than 200 students and personnel of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) School of Technology (SoTech) joined this year’s 4th quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on Nov. 9.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through the Gender and Development Program (GDP) and together with the National Network on Women in Fisheries in the Philippines, Inc. (WINFISH), organized a benchmarking activity for the members of the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) Executive Committee of the Navotas City Government on 8 November 2023 at the UP Visayas, Iloilo City campus. Forty delegates participated in the activity. 

Literary writer Beverly W. Siy conducted a lecture titled “Creative Writes: Protektahan Mo Naman Ang Ari Mo” that tackled copyright and Philippine literature at the UPV Cinemateque, Iloilo City campus on 7 November 7, 2023.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Bolho, Sapa, UPV Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (BSUTODA) on Nov. 8 to update fare and traffic guidelines within the Miagao campus. 

“Entrepreneurship is not just about knowledge and  skills; it's also about habits and disposition.” This is how Chancellor Clement Camposano summarized the collaborative agreement between UP Visayas and Reactor School in a signing ceremony held at the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) FTBI Building, Miagao, Iloilo on November 8, 2023. 

Five fourth year B.S. Economics students that consist UPV’s team UPGRADE, were selected to be among the top three teams of the recent Circular Connect competition. The members of team UPGRADE are Franvill Villanueva (team leader), Jovy Fluer Elpos, Michael Benjamin Ramirez, Trisha Ann Castillo and Renz Calizo. The faculty mentor is Dr. Rodelio F. Subade of DSS-CAS.

The University of the Philippines Visayas will be collaborating with Usi Sweets Inc. (USI) for the value enhancement of the university technology “Karamilk: Spray-dried Carabao Milk Powder”.

The University of the Philippines Office of International Linkages (UP OIL) presented internationalization opportunities to the students, faculty, and staff of UP Visayas through its first in-person roadshow dubbed “HALIKA,” held recently at the UPV Miagao campus. 

Another artwork has been added to the university art collection under the stewardship of the University of the Philippines Visayas Museum of Art and Culture (UPV MACH).
