UP Visayas inks MOU with Reactor School, Singapore

“Entrepreneurship is not just about knowledge and  skills; it's also about habits and disposition.” This is how Chancellor Clement Camposano summarized the collaborative agreement between UP Visayas and Reactor School in a signing ceremony held at the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) FTBI Building, Miagao, Iloilo on November 8, 2023.

UPV and Reactor School, an entrepreneurship education program under the Singapore-based entrepreneurship training company Reactor Industries PTE LTD, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of academic and global educational cooperation.  This partnership furthers the mission of the University to further cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset for innovative solutions.

Through the Coastline 5023: DOST PCAARRD-UPV Fisheries Technology and Business Incubator (FTBI) and the Institute of Fisheries Policy Development Studies (IFPDS) of the College of Fisheries, the agreement aims to develop and implement collaborative activities covering entrepreneurship and innovation. Its focus will be on enhancing the learning experience of UPV students, particularly Fisheries Entrepreneurship, through training programs such as but not limited to: EntreCamp - Startup Hackathon, EntreConference, Early Career Exposure, and etc.

Camposano represented UPV and Ms. Fatima Pauline Malate, Country Lead for Philippines, represented Reactor School. Witnesses to the agreement were Ms. Milyn Leghid, Project Leader of UPV FTBI with IFPDS Faculty Associate Professor Caridad N. Jimenez and Dr. Liberty N. Espectato.

Reactor School was established with the aim of designing and providing entrepreneurship education to motivate the youth to produce impactful solutions. The institution believes that entrepreneurship education is the key enabler to help the youth in discovering and utilizing their personal capabilities to create impactful solutions that will solve the world's biggest problems.
