The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) has established the Digital Innovation Center (DIC) effective this May, as per Memorandum No. CCC 2023-05-021, dated May 16, 2023, from the Office of the Chancellor.

After duking it out with the 10 equally competitive academic organizations, Ugyon was able to pull away and claim the throne in this year’s University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) Pahampang. 

Representatives from the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquaculture and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), Inland Aquaculture Resources Research Division (IARRD) had an inception meeting for new projects as well as monitoring and evaluation of existing projects last April 25, 2023 at the FC Conference Room, UP Visayas.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), through the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod/Oblation Corps (UP/OC), is set to launch its Animal Care Program (ACP) this June. 

After the COVID-19 pandemic hiatus, the University of the Philippines Ichthyophilic Society (UPIS) resumed its Medical, Dental, and Circumcision Mission (MDCM) on its sixth year with the theme, "Maayo nga panglawason, ibugsay sa sini ng misyon," extending free healthcare services to 368 beneficiaries from six coastal barangays in Miagao last Saturday, May 6, at the UPV Covered Court.

The UP Visayas (UPV) Sibika Hub organized a Leadership Training and Public Service activity at the Jaro National High School Gymnasium last May 6, 2023, wherein student leaders coming from U. P. High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) and six DepEd Schools actively participated.

The Teaching and Learning Resource Center (TLRC) celebrated its 26th anniversary through various activities with the theme, “Expanding our Horizons,” last April 26 to 28, 2023 and looked back to its milestones of the academic year.

The UP Visayas Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (MACH) opened three new exhibitions among its seven galleries. 

Aiming to inspire other students from U.P. High School in Iloilo (UPHSI) and provide them with expertise in research, Grade 12–STEM students organized a conference-exhibit titled, “UGBOS: A Conference-Exhibit on STEM-Related Researches” held at the UPV Little Theater on May 3, 2023.
