In the occasion of the 15th founding anniversary of the Zuellig Family Foundation, UPV and eight other academic partners were recognized for their significant contribution in the health leadership and governance programs across all the regions of the Philippines.

As part of its continuing capacity-building activities for traffic enforcers, the Iloilo City Government invited speakers from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for its workshop held at the UP Visayas Little Theater, Iloilo City campus on 09 August.

The Balay Kalagday, under the University of the Philippines Visayas’ (UPV) Animal Care Program through the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod/Oblation Corps (UP/OC), in partnership with the Office of the Chancellor, was launched on Aug. 4, as part of the activities for the UPV and Miagao local government unit (LGU) Friendship Celebration.

To advance the aim of bringing management concepts closer to communities, three students from the Junior Executive Society (JES), the flagship organization of BS in Management students of the College of Management, University of the Philippines Visayas, successfully clinched the Php 100,000 grant jointly presented by YouthLed PH, The Asia Foundation, USAID, and the Gerry Roxas Foundation for the organization’s Panubli initiative.

The sprawling 1,200 hectare campus of UP Visayas in Miagao is a nature lovers’ haven, filled with a wide variety of endemic fauna and flora found along its undulating hills and plains with pockets of lush vegetations and mini forests. Many of the trees in the Miagao campus were planted by UPV faculty, staff, and students still based in the city campus in the mid-80s as well as the pioneers who braved living in Miagao when the campus opened in 1989.
