The Province of Aklan tapped UPV as its academic partner to revise two modules of the Municipal Leadership and Development Program (MLDP) within a year and a 3rd reiteration of three modules of the Municipal Health Leadership and Governance Program (MLGP) within 18 months under the Health Leadership and Governance Program (HLGP) of Zuellig Family Foundation in partnership with the Department of Health 6.
The Aklan Provincial Health Office, under the leadership of Dr. Leslie Luces-Sedillo, organized two batches of 16 Aklan MLGUs for capacity building in the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law (RA 11223), specifically on the Province-wide Health SYstem, Special Health Fund, and Philhealth Konsulta package.
The UPV team was led by Dr. Philip Ian Padilla with Professors Josephine Fimase and Melanie Sartorio, and support staff Ms. Sami Clarisse Juanico and Marianito Ramirez. The trainings were held last 6-7 July and 2-3 Aug 2023 at Istorya Garden Resort, Pan-ay, Capiz.
